So I mentioned taking some art classes with the wonderful Orly Avineri at Create, NJ. I wanted to share what I made in her last class "Postcards From the Edge." This was my first foray into mail art, and I had SO much fun I cannot tell you!

I'm hoping one day to send them to someone...but I kind of just want to look at them for a while. One of the lessons Orly teaches in her classes is the importance of being able to release your art out into the world once it's done--that it is the process of creating that you keep, rather than the end product. I am still working on getting better at that.
This one is by far my favorite.

If you're like me and you can't find a white space to take object photos, you can always use the back of an old nature study you have lying around from unpacking. Heh.

I am lucky to have friends who lived nearby, so I stayed with them instead of at the hotel. (Thanks, T!) Their cat liked to spend time like this. I couldn't resist sharing.

Not to be outdone, here's Gilly! Have a great weekend!

TTFN,
Frau S.
I recognize Orly's bits of paper!!!
ReplyDeleteIt was the green with white dots that tipped you off, wasn't it, Nathalie? ;)
